My Weekend O'Fun in Beardstown

This weekend Josh and I traveled to Beardstown to experience his grandparent's 50th anniversary party and Easter festivities. It was a very fun filled weekend. Josh became a master guitar hero player. We chowed down on fried chicken and taco pizza (very healthy). And, of course, Augie had fun playing with his boyfriend Barney.

Settling?

So the fabulous Jennifer Thompson sent me the above link to an article that is causing quite a stir. I sent her back my thoughts on the article, and she urged me to post them here. So since I'm hokey like that, and the blog is getting a little stagnant, here you go. To quote Christian Siriano, that girl is fierce!

There's quite a stink about this article. Like you're really gonna overlook his bad breath. For me, smell is the dealbreaker. He has to have a body smell that I find attractive.

In my world, you either like someone or you don't. I don't think you have to be madly in love, but I do think you have to like spending time together in mutually enjoyable activities; you have to both find each other attractive; and 51% or better of the time with him has to be enjoyable and not annoying. He has to be someone you have some respect for and aren't ashamed of. He has to have a steady job, a decent work ethic, and a desire to help out around the house. He can't be a moron. He can't be rude to waitstaff. And for me, finally, he has to smell good. If that's settling, I'm all for it.

Fastest Golf cart in the World

We had a great week-end in St. Louis. Met up with Leah and Josh and Molly and Bill. Leah suggested a restaurant on the Hill that was really good. It was good to see everybody. Even o'lady Leah! Bill looked like he didn't feel real well.

Jerry and I went to see SIU loose in the MVC Tournament. The guys can focus on their grade point averages in March and not flying all over the country for a tournament. The guys from Drake will be fun to watch!

Winterpeg

Well, it's still insanely cold in Winterpeg. It's posting -32 right now on Thursday morning at 8:40. Luckily, they're predicting a warm up this weekend.
